I recently got my hands on the **Bluetti Elite 100 Mini**, a portable power station that promises big capacity in a small package. While it's a solid contender for general portable power, its standout feature, in my opinion, is its performance as a computer UPS system.
Disclosure: Bluetti sent this unit for testing. All opinions and test results are my own.
What I Built
Unboxing the **Elite 100 Mini** revealed a compact unit, alongside a 12V adapter cable, an AC charging cable, a small grounding screw, and some documentation. The unit itself is surprisingly small for its 1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) capacity. Measuring approximately 9.5 inches wide by 8.75 inches deep, and weighing in at just over **24 pounds**, it’s one of the most portable 1kWh units I’ve tested.
To put its size into perspective, I compared it to the Anker Solix C1000, which has a similar battery capacity (1056Wh) but is significantly larger and heavier, and a smaller 300Wh power station. While the Anker offers a higher inverter output, the Bluetti Elite 100 Mini's compact design and energy density for its capacity are truly impressive. When laid horizontally, the Elite 100 Mini is only slightly taller and deeper than the much lower capacity 300Wh unit, showcasing how much power is packed into its frame.
Why It Works
The **Bluetti Elite 100 Mini** is built with a **Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4)** battery, which is a major plus for longevity, rated for **6,000 cycles** to 80% original capacity. This means it’s designed to last for years, even with daily use. The unit features a pure sine wave inverter, essential for running sensitive electronics like computers without issues, ensuring clean and stable power output.
Its robust inverter design allows it to handle its rated **700W output** consistently, and even surge higher for short periods. The integrated LED light offers multiple modes (cold, warm, SOS), adding to its versatility for camping or emergencies. Additionally, the accompanying Bluetti app provides excellent control over various settings, including different UPS modes, which is a game-changer for a unit of this size.

Math & Run-Time Numbers
I put the **Bluetti Elite 100 Mini** through several real-world tests. For the AC discharge test, I ran a continuous load of approximately **195-197W**. The unit discharged **903Wh** over **4 hours and 35 minutes**, indicating an impressive **90% efficiency** from the battery to AC output.
Charging from an AC wall outlet in Turbo mode, the unit achieved a full charge from 0% in just **1 hour, 57 minutes, and 37 seconds**, pulling about **700W**. Standard charging mode drew around **560W**, and Silent mode pulled approximately **310W**.
The parasitic drain test, with the AC inverter on and no load, showed a **9% drop** in battery capacity over **12 hours**. This extrapolates to about **18% over 24 hours**, meaning the unit could power its inverter for about **5 days** without any load before fully draining.
For the heavy load test, the **Elite 100 Mini** comfortably sustained its rated **700W output**, holding a very stable voltage and a pure sine wave on the oscilloscope. It even managed to punch out up to **890W** briefly before its overload protection kicked in and shut down the output. This shows a very robust inverter for its size.
Perhaps the most impressive test was its UPS capability with my 4K gaming PC setup. The PC typically pulls around **580-600W**. During simulated power outages, the **Elite 100 Mini** seamlessly switched over to battery power, keeping my monitors and PC running without any interruption. When power was restored, it switched back to grid power just as smoothly. This instant, uninterrupted power transfer is critical for protecting sensitive electronics and preventing data loss.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Exceptional Portability: Remarkably small and lightweight for a 1kWh power station.
- Durable Battery: LiFePO4 battery offers 6,000 cycles to 80% capacity, ensuring long-term reliability.
- Robust Inverter: Delivers a stable, pure sine wave 700W output and can handle brief surges up to 890W.
- Versatile USB-C: Includes a powerful 140W USB-C port, great for modern laptops and devices.
- Seamless UPS Functionality: Provides instant, reliable backup power for sensitive electronics like computers.
- Comprehensive App Control: User-friendly Bluetti app allows customization of charging speeds, various UPS modes, and screen timeout settings.
Cons:
- Limited Solar Input: The 350W DC/PV input is decent but could be higher (e.g., 500W) to allow for faster solar recharging, especially when running a load concurrently.
When To Use This vs. Alternatives
The **Bluetti Elite 100 Mini** shines in scenarios where space and portability are key, but you still need significant power. It's an ideal choice for **homeowners** looking for a reliable and long-lasting **UPS for their computer setup**, offering far more runtime and versatility than traditional battery backups. Its seamless switchover ensures no interruption to work or gaming.
For **van life enthusiasts** or **RV owners**, its compact footprint and impressive energy density make it a top contender when space is at a premium. It provides enough power for essential appliances without taking up valuable room. However, if your primary need is to run high-wattage appliances like Instant Pots or coffee makers frequently, and portability isn't as critical, a larger power station with an 1800W+ inverter, like the Anker Solix C1000, might be a better fit, despite its larger size and weight.
For general **emergency backup** or **camping trips**, the **Elite 100 Mini** offers ample capacity for phones, laptops, lighting, and even small appliances, with the added benefit of customizable charging and power delivery through the app.
Bottom Line
The **Bluetti Elite 100 Mini** is an exceptional portable power station that truly stands out for its compact size, robust performance, and especially its UPS capabilities. Its LiFePO4 battery ensures longevity, and the pure sine wave inverter provides clean power for all your devices. While the solar input could be higher, the overall package offers incredible value and versatility, making it a strong recommendation for anyone needing a reliable, multi-purpose power solution, particularly for a home office setup.
