It uses older battery technology and lacks app control, but for a weekend warrior or occasional camper, its raw power-to-price ratio is hard to beat. I put this unit through all my standard tests to see how it holds up today.
What I Built
The EcoFlow Delta 1300 is a compact, black and grey portable power station. The front features a clear display showing battery percentage, wattage input/output, and estimated remaining runtime. Below the display, you'll find a generous selection of DC outputs: two standard USB-A ports, two fast-charge USB-A ports, and two USB-C Power Delivery ports, each rated for 60W. The **EcoFlow Delta 1300** proved its mettle across various real-world tests:
- **Desktop PC:** Running a graphic-intensive benchmark, the unit comfortably powered a high-end desktop PC, pulling around 500W.
- **Household Vacuum:** This power station handled a household vacuum cleaner, with an output of approximately 1330W, without issue.
- **Electric Hot Plate:** The hot plate drew between 1400W and 1450W, a significant load that the Delta 1300 managed.
- **Microwave:** A microwave in my garage setup pulled over 1600W (up to 1630W), and the Delta 1300 powered it just fine.

- **Recharge Time (0-100%):** The Delta 1300 fully recharged from 0% to 100% in 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 58 seconds, slightly beating the manufacturer's claim of 96 minutes.

- **Fan Noise:** Fans can be noticeable under heavy load, though they have a lower tone.
- **Not for All Heavy Appliances:** Unable to power a gas clothes dryer due to high surge.
When To Use This vs. Alternatives
The **EcoFlow Delta 1300** is an excellent choice for homeowners and tinkerers seeking a powerful, no-frills portable power station for occasional use. Its impressive surge capacity makes it ideal for powering essential household items during short power outages, such as a full-size refrigerator, a gas furnace, or even a desktop PC. Campers or those needing power for weekend projects will appreciate its robust output and quick recharge time.
If you prioritize simplicity and direct operation over smart features like app control, this unit is a strong contender. However, if you require a power station for daily cycling, a longer lifespan (over 3000 cycles), or the ability to power 240V appliances like electric dryers, newer models with LiFePO4 batteries or higher output capabilities might be better alternatives. Its affordability and high-power output for its generation make it a sweet spot for specific, less intensive use cases.
Bottom Line
Despite being an older model, the **EcoFlow Delta 1300** continues to impress with its raw power and high surge capacity, especially considering its current price point. It successfully powered a wide range of household appliances, including a full-size refrigerator for nearly 21 hours and even a mini-split. While it lacks modern features like app control and uses an older battery chemistry, its straightforward operation and strong performance make it a solid option for emergency backup power or recreational use. It's a very capable unit that can still hold its own.
